Celestial generation

"Concrete" versions of Galaxy, Star, Planet, Continent and Landscapes can not be created by anyone. However anyone can create a light, simple version of Star, Planet and Continent, which we call "Virtual". They can be created via the Find page.

Virtual celestials and USO

Virtual items only contain a name, a simple directed relationship, and a personal memo that the explorer can freely edit (only for continent level), only reachable by its creator. It may happen that two explorers create the same item, it's not a problem and will be detected by the system.

To create a virtual continent (music track), for quick annotations or reference, go in the Find page and enter known information, at least Star name (group) and Continent name (track name). The Archivist Automaton will tell you if such a continent already exists, and otherwise will give you the choice to create it in the actions under the form. If you request the creation, all steps will be done automatically (virtual star, virtual planet and virtual continent creation), and you will be able to add a memo for this fresh new virtual continent. (if the concrete continent already you can go to its page to add a memo or do more advanced action as described on the given page)

At some point, the virtual item may be converted into a real celestial by an advanced Cartographer. It will move the existing memos to the newly created continents, so that no data is lost.

USO (Unidentified Sound Objects) are objects for which we only have a name and an URL link, they are usually generated during online exploration on unmapped items (or too weakly identified) like live streams or VOD.

Manual injection of concrete celestials

Several methods are available for detailed injection of stars, planets and continents.

Tip: While creating a planet, the corresponding star(s) is(are) required, or more specifically the star snapshots, field called "mainStars". It may appear that the cartographer does not know which version of the star generated this planet or that the wanted snapshot is not yet in the database. In this case, it is possible to use the "default" snapshot for this star (the one with no details), for the planet creation. The correct "mainStars" information should be corrected afterwards when all the informations will be available and created.

Warnings

Changes that impacts object identification (name or parent change) have to be done via the Cartographer menu.

Change from admin forms will not be logged and match of external bases will be lost.

Continental maps

Maps are temporal informations on a continent. They can be created and edited by a cartographer from any continent detail page.

If the format is recognized (lrc only for now), it will be displayed on the continental profile as vertical red lines (that can be clicked to jump to the corresponding time if a player is available). If several maps are usable, the user can choose the displayed map using the selection widget of the "Map information" part of the continent detail page.

A tool is available to help cartographers to synchronize raw text when an embedded player exists for this continent.
